The Cutlass

Hailing from Texas.

This Maverick that came to be named “The Cutlass” showed up in decent condition...

Minor repairs were needed and a general cleaning.

After hanging out in the corner It ended up as a parts donor to the Hot Rod Maverick. Then it sat some more.

Tom Z. had contacted me about something different for his style and needs as a multi-instrumentalist. Something in the "Jamin Econo" as D Boon would say type of category.

A stray dog of a steel....... So we kicked around ideas.

He needed something he could stand up and play.
He often switches out instruments in his current line up.

I had some home made lift kits from left over from different steels laying around. Some from “Chester”  and some from who knows what. The leg lifts brought it up about three inches and the Chester pedal rod extensions made up for the difference.

After picking through the left over parts I only had enough for two pedals. Don’t need much more than that for standing up anyway so it seemed like a good fit.

I had some more emblems from my collection so I figured why not have some fun.

Cutlass looked pretty cool I thought and he said "Long live Oldsmobile!!!!”

Plus you don’t swing a sword while sitting down anyway!

I included some extra parts in case he decided to modify it someday.

Tom gave a shout when it arrived to let me know it was just what he wanted.

He's been "jamin econo" on it since!
